A year ago, I married the most incredible woman. Looking back, it is almost as if we were fated to meet, build a relationship, and marry. I knew she was someone special before I even saw her. And after meeting her, couldn’t risk being “friend zoned.”
That was four years ago.
On April 6th, I held her hand, looked into her big, glassy brown eyes — the same way I did when I proposed — and committed myself to her. The gravity and magnitude of the situation and the words traveling across the two feet of air to her ears weighed down on me and simultaneously lifted me. I was floating. My voice cracked.
It’s been an amazing year since that day. And I actually do love her more today than I did just 365 days ago. I shouldn’t be surprised that my love for her, and her love for me, have grown. It’s been happening for past four years and it will continue for the next … well, we said, “forever” and we’re both pretty stubborn.
