A little over a year ago I was honored to document the Catholic baptism of Doug and Susan’s first child, Emma, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA. Susan and Doug are great friends and their little girl is simply precious. In my experience, baptisms are usually solo or in a small group — usually 3 or 4. This time, Father Francis J. Peffley had 7 babies to baptize! Needless to say that the area around the lovely baptismal font was crowded with babies, their parents, and godparents.
Emma was really well behaved, barely noticing the baptismal waters flowing over her head. She wrapped up her sacrament with a nap.
