Michael & Nicole – Glen Echo Park Wedding

July 17, 2015

Accidents happen. Some aren’t a big deal while others change your life forever. Back in 2013, neither Michael nor Nicole knew what impact an “oops” would have on their lives. They met on Match.com, a popular dating website, where you can search for potential dates and mates according to your preferences. Michael was giving me quick-and-dirty explanation on how the site works and how he and Nicole met.

“She accidentally put a thousand miles instead of like 100 in her search radius,” he said.

Michael is from Maryland and Nicole lived in Wisconsin. He was just a dot at the very edge of her radar.

So, why not just click on that profile and see what happens?

They turned their serendipitous encounter into a playful relationship that distance failed to keep apart and it was reflected in their Glen Echo Park wedding. Their ceremony was held between the carousel and the bumper car pavilion in a shaded area. They had a string trio playing the elegant compositions of Blink 182 “All the Small Things” and other modern rock classics, including AC/DC.

This was the third wedding I worked with Traci J. Brooks Studios as her 2nd photographer. This third time was definitely a charm as we managed to stay dry until the end even though a very serious thunderstorm was unleashing its wrath and tornado warnings dotted the area. Despite the terrible weather, it didn’t dampen our spirits nor that of Michael and Nicole.
