In 2008, Pope Benedict XVI made a state visit to the United States in April. I was assigned by The Florida Catholic, Inc. to cover the pope’s arrival at Andrew’s Air Force Base, his visit to the White House, and the final Mass at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. It was a great experience to work alongside world-class photojournalists in covering this historical event.
