Ending 2014 on a High Note

January 2, 2015

I’m extremely proud of my wife.

She worked, studied, got married, worked, and studied. And studied. And studied.

After nearly 3 years, she walked across a platform inside the Patriot Center at George Mason University and graduated with her Masters in Special Education. It was a small, simple thing to do — walking — but it was laced with a lot of pride and accomplishment on that stage and from the stands. Her father graduated from GMU before the Patriot Center was built. He got to watch her.

He’s quite a chatty guy, but fell completely silent from the moment they called her name until she sat down. I could practically hear her heels pit-pat across the platform.

She graduated. It was a great day. It was great to be there.

Congratulations to her, for her hard work and for being married to a guy who was able to document it so well. Mighty long lens, Daniel! I’ve been in a center like that. Not an easy shoot. Congrats to all.
