Debbie & Mike – Inn at the Olde Silk Mill Wedding

August 11, 2014

Built in the 1930’s, the Inn at the Olde Silk Mill gave Debbie and Mike the classic-rugged-relaxed feel. Just like them. Mike was a lot like rustic brick of the 19th century mill and Debbie was more like a chandelier. The two came together in a place that reflected their intricacies and provided a great space for them and their guests to play. Weddings are typically reflective of the couple’s ethos and this one fit these two like a glove. The decor and the food was a wonderful mix of the rugged-chic charm of the Olde Silk Mill offers and Debbie and Mike’s wedding warmly showed that. I liked it a lot.

I teamed up with Torre Photography as a second shooter to cover their nuptials and reception. I tailed the guys and he covered the bride and her ladies. These groomsmen were pretty hilarious and relaxed and I enjoyed hanging around them as the day progressed. In just a few minutes, I could tell this laid-back bunch knew each other for many, many years with the hard-hitting jokes and general ease that deep friendships and family have. I got to learn about their story and why this day, though full of celebration and love, was bittersweet.

Gorgeous work, Daniel! Your detail shots (rings, chandelier and cake) are top notch. Great job!
